An abundant harvest is coming
Today, as I was preparing a post for you, the Holy Spirit gently nudged me and jogged my memory. He reminded me of a dream I had in 2008 that deeply impacted me.
I’m going to share it here, because the revelation of it is for you, to encourage you.
In the dream my next door neighbor had a big beautiful apple tree in his yard. While I stood gazing out of the large picture window in my bedroom, I noticed several huge ripe red apples about the size of cantaloupes falling to the ground in one giant cluster.
I was astounded and greatly impressed by what occurred. I thought to myself, Wow! I'd love to have apples like that! That's pretty neat.
Childlike excitement and giddiness overtook me as I got ready to go outside and find a way to eat from the neighbor's harvest. But before I could step away from the window, I noticed something odd.
An identical tree appeared in my own yard and just as I had witnessed those plump apples falling from my neighbor's tree, the exact same thing happened to me!
Gigantic pieces of fruit dropped into my lawn with a thud in one gigantic cluster.
I looked up in confused amazement. I hadn't expected what happened to my neighbor to happen to me. I stood there frozen in disbelief.
I remember being in awe while rushing to gather those ripe apples in my arms. They were so large I could hardly cradle them all. In the dream I thought to myself, I had no idea that the thing I saw in my neighbor's yard would be in my very own yard, too!
And then, just like that, I woke up.
"What are you trying to tell me Lord?" I inquired of Him.
Then He placed something wonderful in my heart that I want to pass along to you.
God is not a respecter of persons. What He does for someone else, He'll also do for you. Although you may not be expecting it, He has great things lined up for you. You have seen others be blessed, but now, it is your time and your turn to blessed also.
It is the Lord’s desire to shower you with His goodness.
You know, there's this old song I like that says, "It is no secret what God can do/What He's done for others, He'll do the same for you."
It is not God's plan that your neighbor's grass be green while yours is drying up and withering away. No. He wants you to flourish and prosper.
So get your expectancy up! Don’t allow negative circumstances to choke out your faith for a brighter future. Don’t let Satan convince you that good things are only for your neighbor, but not for you. The devil is a liar.
Take the limits off of God. Anticipate breakthrough and favor, and prepare your mind to reap a great harvest. God has even more for you than you have room to receive.
He has preordained that you walk into your land of promise and provision, your very own “land flowing with milk and honey” as Exodus 3:17 references.
Someone reading this today is about to step out of the wilderness and into the Promised Land. You’re going to get more than you have room to receive.
In Numbers 13:23, the Bible shows us what happened when the Israelite spies went to explore the land of Canaan that God promised to give to them as an inheritance. When they got there, once they reached the Valley of Eshkol, they cut off a branch with a single cluster of grapes. The cluster was so huge, it took two men to carry it on a pole, along with some pomegranates and figs. It was too much for one person to carry.
Now that’s abundance, right?
If God blessed Israel back then, He will do it for you in the here and now.
So if you’ve been thinking negative, defeated thoughts, it’s time to shift your perspective. If you’ve been expecting to barely get by, you’re thinking too small. Think bigger. See increase in your future. It’s on the way.
Eshkol, the name of the valley we see here in the book of Numbers is the Hebrew word for cluster or bunch. And I just believe you’re reading this my friend because God has a bunch of good things coming your way.
Not just one.
A bunch of blessings.
Get excited. Rejoice in advance.
Expect an abundant harvest.
To help you do that, I’m stirring 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV into your cup of inspiration, which says, “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
As you drink down the contents of your cup, let it remind you that it is God’s will that you be blessed. He wants to give you good things and prosper you, not for selfish gain, but so you can be an effective worker in His Kingdom and a blessing to others.
He’s getting you ready to receive greater.
Let’s pray.
God, thank You for the great things that are on the way for me. At times when I feel overlooked and bypassed, please remind me that it is Your will that I be blessed. Today, I refuse to give into doubt and discouragement. Instead I will rejoice and fully expect to reap a mighty harvest. I thank You for increase and favor! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
