God is removing blockages

I fly frequently for ministry. Traveling around the world to share the Gospel is an awesome privilege. Though it’s a huge sacrifice and at times exhausting, it’s so worth it to see souls saved, spirits lifted, and the yoke of bondage destroyed.

One of my least favorite things, however, is what happens to my ears on the plane ride. They get pretty plugged up. There’s something in our ear call the Eustachian Tube that connects the back of our nose to the middle ear. It’s there to protect, ventilate and drain the middle ear so the air pressure stays equal on both sides of the eardrum.

Well, as you know, the air pressure changes at higher altitudes. So when flying or even riding through the mountains, because the pressure isn’t balanced, our ears feel blocked.

So anyway, there’s this trick I’ve learned to use when I travel. I squeeze both nostrils shut and close my mouth tightly. I take a mouthful of air and blow my nose gently without letting any air escape through my mouth. This directs the airflow to the back of my nose and it unblocks my ears every single time.

It feels so good when my ears pop after being muffled and I can hear clearly again. How must the deaf man have felt when Jesus opened his ears in Mark 7:31-36?

This amazing miracle took place near the Sea of Galilee. The Bible records that some people brought the man, who was unable to hear and barely able to talk, over to Jesus, asking the Savior to lay hands on him. Jesus retreated from the crowd, put his fingers in the man’s ear, spit on his own fingers, and then touched the man’s tongue.

According to verse 34, Jesus looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to the man, “Ephphatha!”  That word is Aramaic, and Mark tells us it means “Be opened!”

Verse 35 says, when Jesus spoke that command, “the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.”

Instantly, whatever was impeding this man’s speech and hearing was gone. Just like that, he was free. Every blockage was removed. And I know that the same Jesus that removed the blockages in that man’s ears, and caused his speech to become fluid, is able to get rid of any blockages standing in the way of your breakthrough.

I sense in my spirit that God is commanding some things to open up for you. He’s speaking to doors and saying, be opened. He’s speaking to opportunities and saying, be opened. He’s speaking to your mind and saying, be opened. He’s speaking to your heart and saying, be opened.

Jesus, who came to earth to open both the natural and spiritual ears of man, and to reveal Himself as the Messiah, wants to reveal Himself to you. It is His good pleasure to do great things. Believe it.

Right now, I speak over your destiny and agree with you in faith for every hindrance to move out of your way. To reinforce this, I’m stirring the Aramaic word Jesus said in Mark 7:34, right into your cup of inspiration: Ephphatha!

As you drink down the contents of your cup, I believe Heaven is opening for you. As you yield to Him, the Lord is removing whatever blockage—both spiritually and naturally— stands in the way of your divine destiny, according to His will. All you have to do is exercise your faith, stay submitted, and always be open to receive. Good things are on the way.

Now let’s pray.

God, as I submit to Your authority, I open my heart to receive whatever You have for me. Please open my spiritual ears so that I may hear when You speak and be receptive to what You say. I thank You for removing every blockage and hindrance. I believe for a supernatural release. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
