It has to let you go!
Recently, something good – rather, something amazing – happened for my family. It’s something we have been believing and expecting God to do. We are all beyond grateful. Although the divine release took longer than we thought it would, it surely happened, and God proved Himself faithful to His word as He always does.
As you’re reading this devotion, you may be waiting on God to do something for you. If you need Him to move and you’re growing weary while waiting, be encouraged. The same God that moved on behalf of my family will move on your behalf. Sometimes, it simply takes longer than we expect.
Today, I was reading Exodus 9 where God sent Moses to Pharaoh to demand that he let the children of Israel go. God’s chosen people had been enslaved servants in Egypt for more than 400 years. Needless to say, deliverance was a long time coming! But when their time came to be set free, God commanded their release and moved every obstacle out of Israel’s way.
God told Pharaoh through Moses in verse 2, “If you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them back, the hand of the Lord will bring a terrible plague…” That first plague was the killing of all the livestock.
As we know, God ended up afflicting Pharaoh and the Egyptians with 10 plagues in total before the stubborn ruler let Israel go. As you see, though it didn’t happen immediately, God released His people from Pharaoh’s grip. He will also release you from the grip of whatever is plaguing your life with negativity and holding you back from doing, being, and possessing all God has, and all He wants for you.
In verse 5, just before the first livestock plague hit, scripture tells us, “The Lord set a time and said, ‘Tomorrow the Lord will do this in the land.’”
Then, verse 6 says, “And the next day the Lord did it.”
I love these two verses! They remind us that the God you and I serve is strategic and effective. He delivers on His promises. He doesn’t just have good intentions; He turns those intentions into corresponding actions.
Friend, God has a set time to reveal His plans. In this case, He did what He said the very next day. And for somebody reading this, I am agreeing in faith with you for a sped-up divine release, an expedited breakthrough.
I’m believing God to work a “very next day” miracle for you. I’m praying that He will do some stuff faster than you were anticipating. You know all too well what it’s like for the change to feel like it’s taking too long. I am praying that the Lord will surprise you and reverse your situation quickly. He’s able to give you a one-day turnaround.
Though things don’t always happen that way, never believe they won’t, and never buy into the myth that God won’t do it for you. Even if you have been going through a season of testing and trials, know that it’s about character development and building your faith. God wants to use your life to get glory through you. In the meantime, keep believing. Your set time will com
If you have been held up, held back and hindered, and have felt chained up, and bound, God sees you and cares. Perhaps you have been in dire straits and you’re ready to be loosed. If so, I have good news: God, who controls the times and seasons, is confirming that your set time is on the way. He has a good plan for your life and it will not be denied. He is commanding your negative situation, as He commanded Pharaoh, to let you go.
Debt has to let you go. Sickness has to let you go. Lack has to let you go. Depression has to let you go. Failure has to let you go. Whatever has come to bind you up must let you go. Your day of freedom is here. It will all happen according to God’s will.
Today, I’m stirring the words God said to Pharaoh in Exodus 9:1, right into our cup of inspiration: “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘Let my people go, so that they may worship me.’”
As you drink down the contents of your cup, rejoice because God has commanded your release. Accept this word as evidence that a breakthrough is on the way for you.
Now let’s pray.
God, I have been waiting for relief and release for a long time. Despite feeling tired and frustrated, I know You have never failed me yet and You won’t this time either. So I will continue to trust You and wait in full expectation that my breakthrough—my rapid turnaround—will come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you desire prayer, please allow me, along with my intercessory prayer team, to stand in faith with you for breakthrough. We would be so honored. We have seen God work over and over again. There is power in agreement. Click here to request prayer now.
As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
