You will win with what you have
When my husband Kenya landed a job in Philadelphia years ago, that meant we would be leaving our hometown, Buffalo, for the first time. We packed up the whole house and loaded everything we could fit onto a U-Haul trailer and gave everything else away. Kenya drove the minivan with the trailer attached, and I followed in the SUV with the kids in tow.
As we were on the road, I saw the trailer moving back and forth at times. Kenya said it was tough to drive with heavy cargo attached to the van. Whenever he would get past a certain speed, the trailer would start swaying, and he would be forced to slow down. This made our trip longer, and we were so glad when we finally made it to our destination, unloaded and detached the trailer!
Traveling with too much stuff attached to you makes your journey slower and more difficult, especially when you’re pursuing your divinely-ordained purpose. Everything and everyone can’t go with you. God is taking you somewhere. Travel light.
That’s what Gideon had to do. I’ve talked about Gideon many times. God used him to save Israel out of the hand of the Midianites in Judges 6, but not before reducing his army of 32,000 men to 300. It seemed like God was placing Gideon at a disadvantage, but quite the contrary was true. He didn’t need to take all those men with him into battle, because the Lord was fighting on behalf of Gideon and Israel.
With only those 300 chosen men, Gideon went to battle. All the Israelites did was make some noise, and God sent the enemy running. They didn’t even have to fight!
Friend, God’s message to you today is simple: you will win with what you have, because you have God. And if God be for you, who can be against you (Romans 8:31)?
It is a trick of Satan to get you all worked up, stressed out and worried over what you don’t have. He’ll always tell you that you don’t have enough or that you aren’t enough, but the devil is a liar.
Whatever challenges arise, you are well able to overcome them because God fights for you. The Lord has equipped you. God knew what you were working with before He called you. And you will win with what you have, because the One who dwells within you is more than enough.
Stand tall and know that the battle is already won. To reiterate this truth, I’m stirring a portion of 2 Chronicles 20:17 NLT into your cup of inspiration, which says, “…stand still and watch the LORD's victory. He is with you…”
As you drink down the contents of your cup, trust God, and celebrate your win in advance. Romans 8:37 says, in all these things, you are more than a conqueror through Christ.
If you internalize this word, worry will fade away, and you will rest in the fact that the Lord has made you victorious. The fight is already fixed.
Now let’s pray.
God, thank You for reminding me that You are more than enough, therefore, I have all I need to be victorious in every situation. Please help me resist worry, fear, and anxiety, because You reign over my circumstances. I declare that I am more than a conqueror through You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If you desire prayer, please allow me, along with my intercessory prayer team, to stand in faith with you for breakthrough. We would be so honored. We have seen God work over and over again. There is power in agreement. Click here to request prayer now.
