Persuaded that He’s able

When I was younger, doctors’ appointments were routine and fun. Once I got older and was on the receiving end of some not-so-good reports, doctors’ appointments felt ominous and stirred up feelings of anxiety.

Being told things like, “There’s nothing more we can do,” “This is very bad,” or “It doesn’t look good,” taught me to associate white coats with worrisome news. After several bad encounters, I found it difficult to relax when entering a hospital or private medical practice.

To this day, I have to pray and take deep breaths.

Even when I pray, my hands still get shaky sometimes. My heart rate increases. I feel myself panicking. But thank God my faith doesn’t shake every time my body does, and my physical condition is not necessarily reflective of my inward position. Though my legs may quiver and feel weak, internally, my faith stance is firm. I know in whom I believe!

That’s what Paul the Apostle said in his letter to Timothy while Paul was imprisoned in Rome. In spite of Paul’s suffering for the sake of the gospel, he told Timothy, “Nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able…” (2 Timothy 1:12).

When you have an intimate relationship with God and walk closely with Him, you might be going through uncomfortable or unfortunate circumstances. Yet, your faith will rise up, and you will declare like Paul, I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able.

He is indeed able, my friend. Able to heal you when you’re sick. Able to loose every chain that binds you up. Able to restore what you’ve lost. Able to reconcile broken relationships. Able to increase you in seasons of lack. Able to save your loved ones. Able to favor you in adversity. Able to set you free from any bondage or stronghold. Able to comfort you in affliction. And able to turn negative situations around.

Perhaps you are going through something today. I believe God is sending you this reminder to trust Him to do what no other power can do.

Ephesians 3:20, which is what I’m stirring into your cup of inspiration, says, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, don’t focus on your problem. Look to the problem-solver whose power never runs out and who always stands ready to prove Himself once more.

Now, let’s pray.

God, when I go through difficult tests and trials, my world feels shaken up. But please help my confidence in You to remain unshakeable. When worry tries to overtake me, put me in remembrance of Your word that assures me that You are more than able to do all things, and there is no failure in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you desire prayer, please allow me, along with my intercessory prayer team, to stand in faith with you for breakthrough. We would be so honored. We have seen God work over and over again. There is power in agreement. Click here to request prayer now.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
