The breakthrough won’t be late!
There’s an old song by Chicago Mass Choir that says, “You can’t hurry God/You just got to wait.”
Those lyrics popped in my head this morning as I was thanking God for how things are coming together in my life after waiting a long time—especially as it relates to the function of my brain.
Won’t He do it?
On my podcast today, I was mentioning that I see progress in areas where I felt stagnant after sustaining brain trauma in 2019. The days I waited for signs of breakthrough turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Months turned into years. To no one’s surprise, our Chief Adversary, Satan, seized upon the chance to discourage me by lying and saying, I was hoping for nothing, and things would never get better.
But friend, I see tangible evidence of God’s power working, and He has—and continues—proving Himself faithful as He always does.
Before I could see any positive progress, though, there were moments when I felt like Habakkuk when he cried out, “How long, Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen” (Habakkuk 1:2).
Habakkuk the Prophet was distressed at the time because the Jews were suffering miserably in Babylonian captivity. God allowed it as a means of divine judgment, but their captors were exceedingly evil, arrogant, and powerful—and seemingly went unchecked. Habakkuk wanted to know, God, when are You going to do something about this?
God answered him in Habakkuk 2:3, promising that the prophet’s vision and hope of deliverance would manifest. The Lord said, “If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed” (NLT).
In the King James Version of the Bible, it says the vision would not “tarry,” which is the Hebrew word 'āḥar (Pronounced aw-khar'), a primitive root that means “to be behind,” “to be delayed,” or even “to be late.”
Oh, this is the good part, friend.
God told Habakkuk, as He’s telling you today, though manifestation is slow coming, when God commands release, the breakthrough won’t be late. It can’t. The blessing won’t be delayed. Trust and believe that the miraculous deliverance won’t be behind schedule.
In other words, He’s an on-time God who can be trusted to keep His promises!
Therefore, if you’re waiting on a breakthrough that seems to be taking forever, take it from me, someone who understands your plight: when your set time, your due season, your day of manifestation arrives, the breakthrough will neither be delayed nor denied.
Job 42:2 NIV, which I’m stirring into your cup of inspiration, says, “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.”
As you drink down the contents of your cup, remember that nothing and no one can hinder God from advancing His plan, fulfilling His will, and manifesting His promises. If the blessing seems slow coming, know that nothing happens outside of God’s timing.
So, rest.
Though flights get delayed, delivery dates get pushed back, and timelines get thrown off by unforeseeable circumstances, God is confirming for you this day, when He commands the arrival of your breakthrough, it won’t be late.
It won’t show up one second past its divine release date.
Now, let’s pray.
God, thank You for reminding me that Your purpose prevails in all things. Therefore, I say yes to Your will and timing, even when waiting feels hard. I believe, according to Psalm 18:30, that Your way is perfect, and Your word is flawless. And my due season shall manifest because You promised, and You cannot lie. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
