“God, You are so faithful,” I said, feeling overwhelmed with thanksgiving after God brought things together. Then I gave Him the best praise I could offer!

Here’s why I was so excited and joy-filled.

A while ago, the Lord spoke to me about something and I shared what He said with my husband Kenya. As the weeks went by, the word I received was in no way lining up with a series events unfolding in my life. Still, I could sense the Lord urging me to believe what He was saying over what I was seeing.

Have you ever been walking completely by faith when every bit of tangible evidence seemingly said the opposite of what God told you? If so, you know how difficult the faith road is in moments like this.

Well, about a week before God showed up and brought things full circle, something else occurred that really made it look like there was no way I had heard God. And since the enemy knows there is no way to convince me that our awesome and infallible God is a liar or failure, he came another way.

“You didn’t hear God,” Satan told me. “You missed on that one.”

From the looks of things, he was right. The enemy, that old trickster, wanted to suddenly take on the role of a lawyer. He pointed out the fact that the trail of evidence proved I was wrong beyond reasonable doubt.

His argument, though crafty, could not stop me from focusing on Hebrews 11:1, which says faith is “the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” So my belief is not rooted in what I see, but in what God said. As Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, I live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

So I kept on going, still rehearsing the words God clearly spoke to me previously. And one day, the Lord nullified the enemy’s attack and verified that I had indeed heard from Him. I know now that He tested my faith to teach me to trust Him no matter what it looks like.

If you’re going through a season that doesn’t make sense, this word is for you.

Do you remember when God allowed Gideon to go through a really uncomfortable situation in Judges 7?It was a time of battle, but before allowing Gideon’s army to fight a formidable enemy, He downsized the Israelite army from of 32,000 to 300.

Huh?

What was God doing? That seemed crazy.

The Bible describes Israel’s opponents—the Midianites, the Amalekites and the people of the east—as being so numerous that they looked like a swarm of “locusts.” Even their animals could not be counted. They were like “sand by the seashore in multitude.”

Have you ever picked up a handful of sand and tried to count individual grains? Impossible. So this, no doubt, looked like a setup for a massacre. How in the world were 300 men going to conquer that many enemy soldiers?

When you think of insurmountable odds, this would definitely qualify.

Funny thing is, after being scared and hesitant, Gideon and his army didn’t have to do much except make some noise. The Israelites blew rams’ horns, shouted, broke jars, and just like that, sent the enemy running. God’s power was at work. The Lord fought the battle for them. And He is fighting your battle for you.

He wants to flex on your behalf. He’s teaching you that it’s not about what you do or don’t have in your hands; it’s about Him having all power in His hands.

Today, you may be going through some tough things. God sent me to tell you, just as He was with Gideon, He is with you right now. Stop looking at your power. Quit focusing on your resources—or lack thereof. Don’t obsess over what you need and don’t have. God is going to take care of you. Jehovah Jireh will provide.

And the enemy, who is coming against you forcefully, will be put on the run just as the Midianites were. As the promise in Deuteronomy 28:7 NASB declares, “"The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways.”

Lift up your head. Place your hope in the God of your salvation. He won’t allow you to be overthrown, overtaken or overwhelmed by trouble. Don’t worry about your deficiency, because Christ is your sufficiency. God has already won the victory on your behalf.

The next time you feel worried or intimidated by what you don’t have, think about Gideon and how, by God’s power, the Israelites got the victory and enjoyed the spoils of war. God did more with less. And He is able to do the same thing in your life.

Friend, when you have the Lord on your side, that’s all you need. He fights battles for you. He makes ways out of no way. It doesn’t matter if things come right down to the wire, or if the odds are not in your favor, God is yet faithful to deliver. He is not limited by your limitations. He always makes good on His promises. And He is never too late. He is always right on time.

Right now, to remind you that every promise God has made to you is coming to pass no matter what you do or don’t have, I'm stirring one of my favorite scriptures, Isaiah 55:11 NIV, into your cup of inspiration. It says, “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, may you be reminded that God’s word never fails. Satan will tell you it’s too late; you missed God; you’re believing for nothing; it will never happen; you don’t have enough; the obstacles are too great to overcome.

But don’t fall for those lies. God is able to do more with less. If He could feed thousands with two fish and five loaves (Mark 6:41), He will take your limitations and use His limitless power to exceed your wildest imaginations.

Even if it appears unlikely, God is not hindered by the way things seem. He is sovereign and fully in control.

Now let’s pray.

God, You have promised increase, blessings and favor in my life. So I will continue to stand firmly upon Your word, despite what the enemy says, and what my circumstances look like. Even when I cannot trace Your hand, I will trust You with all my heart. Although I may not be or have enough on my own, because I have You, I have more than enough. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
