In just the right season...

How was your week? How did things go for you? Were you productive? Did things pan out the way you hoped they would, or did you stumble into some trouble, obstacles, and maybe a few setbacks?

My week was good. Blessed. I was productive, though I didn’t get to do everything I wanted to do. I had hoped to get around to recording new podcasts at Empowering Everyday Women Ministries Studios, but my throat wouldn’t cooperate with me. Earlier this week, I went into detail about why I wasn’t podcasting. You can CLICK HERE to read more about that if you haven’t had the chance to do so.

Earlier this week, around Tuesday or Wednesday, I felt anxious about not being able to check off every item on my to-do list. And right in the middle of my frustration, a still, small voice interrupted and said, “Pace yourself.”

I knew instantly that it was the voice of God ministering to my needs through that short and sweet word. The Lord was in essence saying, take things slow and don’t get in a hurry. Things will happen right when they’re supposed to.

After that message from Heaven was downloaded into my spirit, I felt peaceful and confident that all things – now and in the future – will come together according to the plan of God. After all, He has factored in the setbacks, and none of them can derail His intended purpose for our lives.

We have to remember that right now is not always the right time. There are times and seasons for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). With this in mind, we may as well relax, rest and trust the timing of the Lord.

Amen?

As I meditated on the principles of resting and trusting today, I read Isaiah 60 which is full of beautiful, prophetic promises God spoke to Israel concerning Jerusalem. He promised that His glory would shine upon Jerusalem, and He would bless Israel and show them favor. In the latter half of the final verse of this encouraging chapter, verse 22, God says this: “At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.”

What a powerful word of hope! It’s surely one that you can cling to as a reminder that all the good things God has promised and planned, in just the right season, He will make it all happen for you.

Through setbacks, struggles, tests, trials and roadblocks, take hold of this promise, and know that your time is coming. For now, rest in God. Settle down. Pace yourself. Put your mind at ease.

And again, meditate on the truth of Isaiah 60:22: At the right time, the Lord Himself will make it happen for you.

Now, let’s pray.

God, sometimes I feel frustrated, and I get in a hurry, because I want to see Your promises manifest and Your word revealed. But thank You for giving me renewed hope through Your word that whatever You have spoken will happen in just the right season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
