Rivers are flowing
On a recent podcast, I told you that I eat a Ketogenic diet that consists of high fat, moderate protein and low carb meals. I eat what is called a “clean Keto” diet, meaning, I consume mostly healthy oils and fats like avocados, lots of seeds, berries, veggies, salmon, chicken, and occasional red meat and dairy. I avoid sugar and simple carbohydrates like rice, pasta or bread (unless the bread is made with Flaxseed). I substitute zucchini noodles for pasta and riced cauliflower for standard white rice.
The other day, I wanted some pizza, so I made a Keto-friendly cauliflower crust pizza, and everyone in the house loved it. We were all stunned by how bread-like the texture of the crust was. The pizza was so yummy and filling!
One of the great benefits of Keto is that it forces me to be even more diligent about reading labels and rejecting all the added sugars and unnecessary processed junk manufacturers put in our food. These days, I eat mostly whole, natural foods. I feel really good and energetic, which is something I am very grateful for—especially after all I have been through with my health. I know what it’s like to be constantly sick and in pain and crying out to God for healing month after month. To be in a place where I feel awesome daily is incredible. God answered my prayer! Discovering a way of eating that adds to the gift of health God has given me is wonderful.
Maybe you’re praying about something you want God to change, health-related or otherwise, and you’re waiting for an answer. Remember, God is able, and He will do it. In Exodus 17:4-6, Moses was in the wilderness and needed God to do something for him. At the time, the Israelites were thirsty and had no water. They were angry at Moses and parched, and they desperately needed help. Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord answered. He told Moses to use his staff and strike a rock at Horeb, and God caused water to come out of the rock for the people to drink. It was a miracle!
Horeb, the name of the place where this miracle took place, means “desert, solitude, or destruction.” In the middle of this dry desert, where it looked like the Israelites were headed for destruction, God caused water to flow. He satisfied their needs. And friend, God will satisfy your needs too.
If you are in a desert of affliction, and your circumstances seem to be pointing toward destruction, gloom and doom, you have a Rock to go to in the wilderness. His name is Jesus, and living water flows from Him to you.
In John 7:37-39, Jesus promised that whoever believes in Him will see rivers of living water flowing through them by the power of the Holy Spirit. And wherever those rivers flow, blessings flow, the light and love of Christ flows, and His will is accomplished.
When you put your faith in Christ, life-giving rivers will water your dry places and supply your needs—both naturally and spiritually. The rivers are always flowing, and faith causes them to flow to you. There are rivers of healing, breakthrough, favor, deliverance, and power flowing right now. By faith, receive the flow!
Now, let’s pray.
God, thank You for reminding me that when I place my faith in You, You cause rivers of blessings to flow to me. I believe that Your power is working, even in the midst of my wilderness. And I believe that change is coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
