A big reward is coming!
When I was a teenager, I filled several roles at church. One of my responsibilities was making programs for service. I would design them, type them, print them on my dad’s computer, fold them up, and make sure everyone had them. It was a lot of work.
Usually, after church was over, I could find them crumpled on the floor or left on someone’s seat after they’d already left. No one really seemed to care that much about the programs, though I invested hours in making them.
Honestly, what I was doing didn’t feel all that important.
But one day, we ran out of printer paper, and I was unable to print out programs for service. I was shocked by how many people asked about them. I discovered that day that what seemed unimportant was in fact vital. That experience also taught me not to look for tangible rewards for the work I was doing for God. Anything I do for Him is never wasted. Not for me. Not for you, either.
I’m so glad I learned that lesson, especially as the leader of a nonprofit organization that helps people who often cannot say thank you. There is nothing they can give in return. My reward is seeing lives changed by my obedience to help those in need.
God has also rewarded Empowering Everyday Women! He has been incredibly good to me and my team and has shown us in so many ways that He is faithful, and His favor is with us. Selfless partners like you sow regularly, and together, we are changing the world with the gospel of hope and humanitarian aid.
And friend, God will show you His favor too if you keep going and stay surrendered to His will.
“God sees your faith, your sacrifice, and your obedience, and there’s a big reward coming your way. Don’t be weary or discouraged. Your due season is on the way!”
In life, there will be things you feel called by God to do and you will obediently do them. Yet, there will be seasons when you see no tangible results. It will feel like your labor is in vain. But that’s a lie. God will reward your obedience and faithfulness in ways you can’t imagine.
Just don’t stop. Keep doing the right thing. Keep loving your enemies. Keep praying. Keep praying. Keep giving. Keep trusting the Lord. Keep investing in your vision. Keep sharing even when it seems like no one notices. When one applauds. When no one stops to say thanks. When no one confirms that it or you matters.
I’m here to tell you, yes, it does matter—and so do you. God is going to bless you. Though you may not see tangible rewards yet, I promise you that they are on the way.
1 Corinthians 15:58 CEV, which I’m stirring into your cup of inspiration, says, “My dear friends, stand firm and don't be shaken. Always keep busy working for the Lord. You know that everything you do for him is worthwhile.”
As you drink down the contents of your cup, know that God sees everything you’re doing, and there’s something good making its way to you. If you keep pressing, God will keep blessing! A big reward is coming.

God, Your word tells me in Galatians 6:9 not to be weary in well doing, for in due season I shall reap, if I faint not. In times when I feel discouraged, as if everything I’m doing is in vain, please encourage my heart, and remind me that a big reward is coming if I don’t give up. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
